According to YouGov, only 26% of people favor the protests that deny Israel’s right to protect its country. 25% stated they lacked a firm position on pro-Palestine demonstrations and 50% of Americans noted their opposition to anti-Israel gatherings on college campuses.
Within recent weeks, one story after the next has broken about violence transpiring during pro-Palestine protests. Far too often, law enforcement’s had to step in to prevent things from fully spiraling out of control.
As for thoughts about police involvement, Americans’ views are largely split. 29% of the country remains uncertain of what to think. However, 25% agree law enforcement’s presence should go further. Another 25% feel the police have handled the demonstrations appropriately. Only 21% of Americans told YouGov that law enforcement has been too austere.
