Additionally, the governor noted that juvenile detention and probation officers have important responsibility of working with youth in DJJ care. They have unique opportunity to help change and redirect the lives of Florida’s youth to a successful path.
Gov Scott said, “I look forward to working with the Legislature during the upcoming session to pass this 10 percent pay raise.”
Furthermore, he said the pay increases will ensure the DJJ can hire highly qualified and dedicated detention and probation officers.

On the other hand, Florida DJJ Secretary Christina Daly said the governor has been committed to making Florida a leader in juvenile justice.
She said, “I cannot thank him enough for his recognition of the importance of dedicating resources for the recruitment and retention of committed, high-quality employees.”
