The former vice president even explicitly stated that robbing law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights won’t bring about solutions.
Pushback from the Democrat Party
Of course, it didn’t take long for Pence’s criticism of gun control activism to spread.
A spokesperson for the Democratic National Committee later claimed that during Pence’s time as former President Trump’s vice president, both were “beholden” to the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Later in the statement, the DNC accused the former president and vice president of making commitments to survivors of shootings, only to later walk them back.
The Democrat Party continues to negate calls for mental health awareness or even increased security measures in school. The political left remains in lockstep with the view that gun control and gun control alone will end mass shootings.
