On Wednesday night, during the Los Angeles Dodgers championship, Freddie Freeman bagged the MYP trophy at the World Series despite having an injured ankle. He hoisted the trophy into the air and became a little emotional as the win and the trophy meant a lot to him and his team, Dodges.

Freeman made sure to carry his beloved team to a five-game conquest, where he went on to hit a home run in all of the first four games that took place, which resulted in driving in a World Series franchise because he secured a record of 2 runs. And on winning the match he said that this was all he needed.

What Did Enrique Hernandez Said About Freeman’s Victory?

Apart from his own family, a few people were slightly frustrated, fearful, and upset about the player’s physical health and mental condition. Why? Because the athlete had undergone a tough time throughout the season. But, when Freddie Freeman bagged the MVP trophy at the World Series, everything was forgotten, and he became a hero overnight.

At this point, Dodgers utilityman fielder Enrique Hernandez spoke in support of Freeman. He thinks that none of the fans knew what Freddie put himself through just to show up for the series and left no stone unturned to win the trophy. He added that since Freddie gave an unforgettable performance, he hopes that Freddie won’t have to pay for his meals on his own in LA.

What Happened To Freddie Freeman?

Before Freddie Freeman bagged the MVP trophy at the World Series on September 26, he had severely sprained his right ankle. Not being physically fit, Freeman was unsure whether he would be able to play in the postseason. His injured foot provoked him to focus on himself, and as a result, he missed three games in the first two rounds.

Freddie's Son Maximus Hospitalized

Then, his son Maximus was hospitalized for eight days, for which Freddie took leave again in late July to be there with his son. Jr.Freddie was admitted to a pediatric intensive unit, where he was fighting for his life against Guillain-Barre syndrome. It is a rare neurological disorder in which the person feels weak, numb, and paralyzed as the body’s immune system attacks its nerves. Due to this syndrome, Freddie’s son felt no sensation below his neck and survived on a ventilator to breathe life in his lungs.

Speaking about his son’s hospitalization, he said that Maximus did not deserve to be in this situation. Not only his son but nobody should go through such a phase. He recalled how his family was going regularly every night, and every room was occupied in the pediatric. Having been forced to witness was indeed shattering. He added that maybe many families are going through a worse situation, and he might seem nothing in front of that. He considered himself to be still luckier in getting Gullain-Barre, which has chances of putting the patient back on track. There are many families with children with diseases that have no cure and are helpless in front of them.

The MVP trophy holder further said that he was well aware of the Dodger fans' feeling that they would not like his approach, but he would grab the chance of striking out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 7 of the World Series 300 million times in a row instead of watching that again.

How Did Freddie Make A Comeback?

It was certainly not easy for Freddie, as a father, to come back for the game. However, luck was in his and his family’s favor because Maximus’s health became stable again. The young boy is walking again and will recover soon. However, as a baseball player, he showed his dedication on the ground.

He was not only able to hit a home run in each of the four games but even made the Major League record by making constant homes in six back-to-back World Series games. This forced everyone to recall his similar performance in 2021 when, in Atlanta, he won the World Series.

Freddie Stole The Show

The fans were amazed to witness their favorite player still managing to play with an injured ankle, which actually needed five rest and treatment to be able to hit the ground again. Despite failing to deliver an extra-base hit in the first two rounds of the postseason, Freddie made sure he impressed his fans and team by putting up one of the best power displays in the history of the World Series. As a result, Freddie Freeman bagged the MVP trophy at the World Series.

If his performance is summed up, then in Game 1, Freddie hit the first walk-off grand slam in the history of the World Series. He also hit a solo home run in Game 2 and two homers in Game 3, which were followed by another two in Game 4.

Hernandez praised witnessing Freddie’s sportsman spirit. He said it's not just how well he played the game during the World Series but also the fact that he put himself under a lot of pressure that brought him to this position. In the end, he only had to wear his cleats and show up to represent his city and team.

How Did Freeman Manage To Recover?

Freeman himself said that the late start of the World Series gave him full time to recover. He got the biggest break by losing Game 5 of the NLCS which was played against New York Mets. The match forced the World Series league to start three days later, which allowed his ankle to recover properly. And that is how Freddie Freeman bagged the MVP trophy at the World Series.

How Did Other Team Mates React To Freddie’s Achievement?

Freddie’s teammates were also impressed, considering what he went through as a father and a player. Max Muncy, the Dodgers' third baseman, said that Freddie’s achievement gave them everything. Freeman literally gave them his body and forgot about his ankle while making those home runs.

Dodgers, second baseman, Gavin Lux said that the guy managed to play with broken bones and kept his body on the line daily. So it was fun to watch him play after what he went through this year.

Conclusion

There are few players like Freddie Freeman who, regardless of going through a tough situation, end up showing up for the love of the game and the team. Therefore, due to his dedication, Freddie Freeman bagged the MVP trophy at the World Series.
