FTC Reportedly Investigating Facebook over Possible Misuse of Personal Data

The company’s deputy privacy officer, Rob Sherman recently said, “We respected the privacy settings that people had in place. Privacy and data protections are fundamental to every decision we make.”

 Facebook hired digital forensic firm to investigate Cambridge Analytica

On Monday, Facebook hired digital forensics firm Stroz Friedberg to investigate Cambridge Analytica’s claim that it already destroyed the data.

The data analytics firm agreed to comply and provide Stroz Friedberg complete access to its servers and system.

Facebook also asked Cambridge Analytica’s co-founder Christopher Wylie and data scientist Aleksandr Kogan to submit to a comprehensive audit. Wylie declined while Kogan agreed.

“We are moving aggressively to determine the accuracy of these claims. We remain committed to vigorously enforcing our policies to protect people’s information,” according to the social network giant.
