Donald Trump, President of the United States, told the European Union and Canada on Friday to bring down their trade surpluses. This is only a day after Trump hit those countries and Mexico with import taxes on their aluminum and steel.

Trump Angry Again?

On Friday morning, Trump reprimanded Canada in a tweet. He said that Canada is treating farmers in the U.S. very badly and that they have for a very long time now.

He added that Canada is highly restrictive on trade and that they must take town trade barriers and open their markets.

According to the White House, Trump also told to Emmanuel Macron, the French President, that the U.S. needs to rebalance trade with Europe.

However, Trump’s strong words followed quick responses to his taxes by Mexico, Canada, and the European Union. All of these countries plan to respond with fees on billions of dollars of U.S. goods. New tariffs could apply to products ranging from whiskey and juice to Harley-Davidsons and blue jeans.

Responses from World Countries

The European Union took the U.S. to the World Trade Organization with a plan to question the legality of Trump’s administration’s security justification on a national level. They also want to question the new taxes. Brussels, however, presented an eight-page list of tariffs saying that they will take the proper measures if needed.
