Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, recently announced in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Google is planning to enhance its search engine with more artificial intelligence (AI) features.

The goal is to make the search tool more conversational and human-like, allowing users to interact with it in a more natural manner.

Pichai’s statement indicates that Google is committed to competing against companies like Microsoft-backed OpenAI and its chatbot, ChatGPT, by incorporating AI into its search tools.

Despite Google’s search business accounting for over half of its revenue, Pichai denied any notion that chatbots posed a threat to its primary business.

He sees the opportunity space for AI in search, as even bigger than before.

By adding AI capabilities to Google’s search engine, Pichai believes that the tool will be better equipped to answer a wider range of search queries, providing more accurate and relevant results to users.

Microsoft recently released an enhanced version of its Bing search engine, powered by ChatGPT, which OpenAI first introduced.
