Republican Scott Perry is a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. He said that there is a rule of law in the United States and that nobody is going to get special treatment. Allowing immigrants, no matter how old they were, who came to the U.S. illegally opens too many doors for others to slip through the legal cracks.

However, conservatives and GOP leaders state that the votes the moderates want to force are probably going to produce a very liberal legislation. They expect all Democrats to join a few Republicans to push it through the White House.
