Emergency authorities and investigators have arrived on the scene of a significant fire that wreaked havoc on a popular and historic Harrisburg destination: the Broad Street Market. The inferno took hold in the early hours of Monday, with Harrisburg Fire officials confirming they received the call around 12:57 a.m.
The Harrisburg market fire consumed part of the market’s structure, specifically the slightly newer brick building situated at the rear.
Although firefighters made swift and decisive tactical decisions to control the blaze, the rear half of the second building, facing 6th Street, unfortunately succumbed to the flames.
No Casualties Reported Amid Harrisburg Market Fire
Adding a silver lining to the situation, fire crews verified that the building was unoccupied at the time of the Harrisburg fire.
Consequently, there were no reported injuries.
