Some options to maintain data and internet access abroad include the use of an eSIM, a SIM card, or the purchase of a data pass from your mobile service provider.
Be mindful of the time zone difference
Many countries around the world have time zones that significantly differ from those here in America. This is always something worth taking into account as you prepare for your trip.
If you have hotel/Airbnb/hostel accommodations with specific check-in times, you’ll want to remember the time applies in the zone of your destination, not necessarily the same time as your home base.
Be aware of the native language
When you’re going overseas, you may very well be visiting a country that has a native tongue other than English. While you don’t have to speak fluently in this language to visit, it doesn’t hurt to learn a few words in their native tongue.
Knowing how to say “hello,” “thank you,” and “good day” in the language of your destination can go a long way. In most cases, the locals will appreciate you at least making the attempt to speak with them in their own language.
