The Hypocrisy of the Left’s Allegations of Racism

The Hypocrisy of the Left’s Allegations of Racism

The liberal media and the progressive left consistently allege that conservatives are bigots and racists. The recent attacks on Donald Trump are a further example of this and in many ways have set the tone for this year’s election. This “branding” effort has accomplished its purpose, ensuring that minorities vote Democrat.

But are minorities making the right choice?

We’ve taken a look at some key economic indicators. Here are some interesting points that you won’t see traditional media outlets cover:

Welfare Numbers

From 2009-2012, the Democrats controlled both the Senate and the White House, and from 2009-2011 controlled the House of Representatives as well. During this period, monthly participation in welfare programs, medicaid, and SNAP (food stamps) increased by a total of almost 3%. When broken down by race, we find that among non-hispanic whites the increase was 1.4%, among African Americans monthly participation increased by 2.7%, and Hispanic participation increased by 3.4%. Further, welfare spending under President Obama has consistently reached record highs year after year.

Let’s look at unemployment across the same time period. In January of 2009, The unemployment rate for whites was 7.1%, African Americans was 12.7 and hispanics was 10.0%. In December of 2012, the unemployment rates were 6.9%, 13.9% and 9.7% respectively. While unemployment for whites and hispanics dropped marginally, black unemployment increased! It was only after Republicans took control of the House of Representatives that unemployment numbers began to drop significantly.

Immigration and Deportation

What about immigration? Surely conservatives’ hard-nosed immigration policies have deported more dream-seeking undocumented (illegal) immigrants than that of the loving liberals?

Actually, President Obama has earned the title “deporter-in-chief” because his administration has deported more illegal immigrants than any previous administration. Obama’s administration has deported more than 2.5M people, while Bush deported just over 2M.

Additionally, Pew estimates that in 2007, under President Bush, the total number of estimated illegals in the country had peaked at 12.2M, and under President Obama, in 2014 had fallen to 11.1M.

So What’s the Truth?

The truth is that the left has had their chance to prove that they can make minorities’ lives better and they have failed miserably. They have only succeeded in dividing the country further and further. Minority quality of life has decreased in almost every way under the Democrats. Branding and allegations aside, the proof is in the numbers and the numbers tell an ugly story.
