A 2-year-old child was discovered dead in the Winthrop residence of former Massachusetts police lieutenant, James Anthony Feeley, last Thursday. Feeley, 56, who was arrested on Christmas on child rape charges, remains in jail awaiting trial.
Pleads not guilty
Feeley, 56, faces charges of aggravated statutory rape of a child and two counts of indecent assault and battery of a child under 14, with a bond set at $200,000.
The toddler, whose identity has not been disclosed, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Authorities claim that the preliminary investigation “indicates no signs of foul play or physical trauma.” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s spokesperson stated, “We are awaiting an autopsy to determine cause of death.”
