Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson, who was appointed by a Republican, is the one who issued the ruling against Lake. In doing so, Judge Thompson confirmed that Hobbs is governor-elect.
Meanwhile, lawyers representing Arizona stated Lake’s litigation lacked evidence of voter fraud. These same attorneys also explained the Arizona Republican did not prove her allegation that machine problems in Maricopa County were the result of intentional acts to rig or steal the election.
What happens now?
Monday, December 26 at 5:00 PM MST is the deadline Lake has to issue a response. However, for further motions, the Arizona Republican has until 8:00 AM MST.
On the morning of Christmas Eve, Lake confirmed she will, in fact, appeal this ruling. She also alleged her case presented “evidence” of lawless elections taking place.
At this time, there is nothing to indicate that Lake’s appeal will change the outcome of Judge Thompson’s ruling.
Critics of Lake, on the other hand, took to social media to blast her refusal to accept her election loss and her loss in the court system.
