The dangers of consuming too much alcohol in one sitting are very well-documented. This can cause issues with hand-eye coordination and lead to impaired judgment, especially while around others.

Habitual over-drinkers may eventually suffer damage to the immune system, making their bodies more vulnerable to various diseases. Other risks include developing cancer and incurring brain damage and/or lasting injury to the nervous system.

Traditionally, individuals who consume alcohol are advised to do so in moderation. However, a new study indicates more people are beginning to see even “moderate” drinking as a liability.

This data from Gallup might shock you

In 2024, 45% of people now believe consuming even one to two alcoholic beverages (widely considered moderate drinking) is not healthy. This marks a notable shift from 2018 when only 28% of Americans viewed this amount of drinking as ill-advised.

Today, only 8% think it’s healthy to have one to two drinks per day. Another 43% feel that consuming alcohol in moderation ultimately doesn’t make a tangible difference.
