These same unnamed Republicans also reportedly believe that if DeSantis does run, he will wait until around May before making any formal announcements. This is the same period in which the Florida state legislature will bring its regular session to a close.
One GOP member even went as far as to say DeSantis is “a go” when it comes to running for president.
Excitement within the GOP for a possible DeSantis run
At this point, a handful of political PACs have emerged to promote and help DeSantis run for president. These PACs maintain that their work centers around ensuring the Florida governor has every tool and advantage at his disposal, should he decide to campaign.
Meanwhile, advisers to DeSantis are reportedly seeking new hires and otherwise preparing for the governor to begin a national run later this year. One conservative with ties to DeSantis also believes with the current momentum behind him, the time to strike is now.
Ultimately, Americans will have to continue to wait and see what ensues. Though if the latest reports are accurate, DeSantis may very well be a presidential candidate before 2024 arrives.
