Now, BBC, a broadcasting company based in the United Kingdom, is taking similar action. Per the BBC, employees should get rid of TikTok on their phones. That is unless the app is there for business purposes that are “justified.”
In a statement, a company spokesperson revealed that BBC is very serious about safeguarding its data, persons, and systems, hence the latest action against TikTok. Moreover, the BBC confirmed it will keep monitoring activity on TikTok and additional platforms from third parties.
The beginning of the end for TikTok?
If various governments and large businesses around the globe keep taking action against TikTok, the company’s future may greatly diminish.
Just earlier this month, the Biden administration called for parent company ByteDance to either get rid of its TikTok stakes or face a nationwide ban in America. All things considered, myriad governments and organizations are not willing to take the risk of being compromised by TikTok — nor should they.
The latest scrutiny against the social media platform will also undoubtedly make some individuals reconsider their use of TikTok and the app’s presence on their devices.
