The injured victims were transported to five local hospitals. NOLA Ready, New Orleans’ emergency preparedness department, reported that the wounded officers are now in stable condition.
Weapons and potential explosive devices were found in the suspect’s vehicle and other locations in the French Quarter.
The FBI’s bomb technicians are investigating the viability of these devices. “Other potential IEDs were also located in the French Quarter,” the FBI confirmed.

New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick described the assailant as being in full military gear.
“This is not just an act of terrorism, this is evil,” Kirkpatrick stated. “He was hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did.”
Federal and local agencies, including the Justice Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are collaborating to respond to the attack.
