Despite the clear troubles Gen Z faces, the news isn’t all bad. Additional information from the Walton Family Foundation and Gallup showed that optimism remains strong within America’s youth.
Over 75% of Gen Z feels as though the future ahead of them is bright. At the same time, just over 50% of this demographic agrees they’ll be able to afford higher education opportunities.
What this means for the United States as a whole
The latest findings indicate a clear need for mental health improvements amongst Gen Z. Persistent negative feelings can adversely impact an individual’s emotional and even physical wellness.
In the worst case scenarios, persistent mental health challenges sometimes pose as factors in mass shootings and other acts of violence in society.
All things considered, it may be worth looking into what’s happening with Gen Z and how to help this group collectively improve their mental health.
At the end of the day, this generation is the future of the United States. How they fare will have longstanding impacts on the nation at large, for better or for worse.
