“New Yorkers have never succumbed to fear or intimidation, and today will be no different. We are tough, we are resilient and we will not allow terrorist thugs to change the way we lead our lives. We will not let terrorism win — not today, not ever.”

Cuomo calls for civility despite political differences

Earlier today, the NYPD checked a suspicious package sent to Cuomo’s office in Manhattan. The police declared the package “harmless” as it only contained computer files about the hate group, The Proud Boys, according to the governor’s spokesman Rich Azzopardi.

During an interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan, Cuomo said he believes that the suspicious packages sent to Democrats were politically motivated. He encouraged all politicians and Americans to practice “civility” and “avoid hostility” even if they have political differences.

According to him, “We can have political differences…But let’s have our political differences with civility. Let’s avoid the hostility, the rhetoric, and the rancor, and the anger because we are at a boiling point.”
