Since President Trump’s time in office, he has made great strides in criminal justice reform. Last year, the president passed the First Step Act; this piece of legislation provides aid to individuals who have paid their debt to society and seek to successfully reintegrate into society. Trump’s work in criminal justice reform even led to him being honored by Benedict College last week.

After recieving honors, the president discussed how the partisan impeachment inquiry has opened his eyes about wrongdoings within the criminal justice system. Democrats, who are pushing the inquiry (despite the lack of votes and evidence), didn’t care for the president’s honors or his subsequent remarks.

Therefore, House Democrat Ilhan Omar took to Twitter and made some peculiar remarks about Trump, race, and the criminal justice system.

Everything You Need to Know About Omar’s Statements

Omar’s tweet came in response to remarks delivered by President Trump at the Second Step Presidential Justice forum. In her statements, the congresswoman declared that the impeachment inquiry is holding Trump “accountable.” Interestingly enough, Omar declined to mention specifically what the president is being held accountable for.
