She did, however, share untrue statements about race. In the following tweet, Omar declared that the criminal justice system is inherently against black and brown people. Then, she professed that the system gives “people like [Trump]” a pass for bad behavior. Yet again, Omar failed to cite evidence or data to support these claims.

Leftist Claims About the Criminal Justice System
The conflation of race and the criminal justice system is common amongst the left-wing. The truth of the matter, however, is quite different. Despite what Omar believes, the criminal justice system does not inherently favor or discriminate against any particular race.
There are a series of factors that impact sentencing and other matters regarding criminal justice. The nature of wrongdoing, previous run-ins with law enforcement, whether or not the individual has a criminal record, etc., each plays a role.
