While speaking with Levin, Gingrich also linked Pelosi’s political family ties to his views of her. The former House Speaker noted that Pelosi’s extensive connections to politics have led to the House Speaker behaving like a “genuine machine politician” without care about trampling over other people.
Gingrich then pushed back on a recent assertion from Pelosi regarding the second impeachment of President Trump. During a press conference last week, the House Speaker professed that proceeding with impeachment yields national unity; Gingrich, however, criticized this stance.
Per the former House Speaker, Pelosi’s position on impeachment carries quite a bit of “gall”; Gingrich also noted that Pelosi doesn’t care much to answer “tough questions” from reporters.
Taking back the House of Representatives
During the 2020 congressional races, Republicans came very close to taking back the House of Representatives. House GOP members retained and won way more seats than expected; at this time, Republicans only need five more seats to regain the majority in the House.
