Pelosi’s suggestion for the government to keep handing out money comes as the jobless number increased to 26 million Americans. The suggestion also arrived less than two weeks after the Payment Protection Program ran out of money to give small businesses.
A Path to Reopening America
Republicans and many others have continued to assert the need to reopen the economy, even if this process happens in pockets. The reality is that government handouts are not an endless supply of resources. The depletion of the Payment Protection Program is a prime example of this reality; sadly though, some people still don’t get it.
When there’s a situation where tens of millions of people are not working while simultaneously seeking government handouts, the inevitable outcome is disaster. COVID-19 or not, there is no escaping the reality that government must cease standing between Americans and their jobs/businesses.
A minimum guaranteed income from the almighty government is not a sustainable, longterm plan; however, it is certainly in keeping with socialism, a system greatly favored by Democrats.
