As Joe Biden seeks another term in the White House, he'll have to convince voters that he's a better fit for four more years than former President Trump. Thus far, Biden's gone on the record asserting he defeated Trump four years ago and will do so once more this November.

Nonetheless, certain polls show the former president either getting the best of Biden or coming close to doing so. This subsequently leaves certain Democrats pondering whether or not the current president truly has the capacity to pull off another win.

So far, Biden's team has yet to publicly acknowledge these surveys or specific concerns surrounding them. Yet, a new one is out and it doesn't put Biden in a favorable light at all.

A lack of respect?

Recent Gallup polling reveals most people across the country (58%) believe the 46th president lacks the respect of leaders overseeing other nations. Just 37% think Biden has garnered world leaders' respect. 5% told Gallup they have no consensus on the matter either way.

Of course, Democrats are overwhelmingly less likely to believe other presidents and heads of state view Biden in poor standing. 74% think Biden holds the respect of these officials, while 34% of Independents and just 3% of GOP members agree.

These new findings largely track with results from 13 months ago which showed (again) that only 37% of Americans feel world leaders respect Biden.

Reframing from Biden's team?

As the current president seeks reelection, he's been presenting himself as the better alternative to handle foreign policy matters. On multiple occasions, Biden's stated that having Trump back in office would empower dictators while weakening NATO and shattering the confidence that US allies have in our country.

Of course, many of the president's political opponents don't see it this way. After the US' controversial withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, many Americans faulted Biden for the death of 13 US soldiers, along with the Taliban's return to power in the Middle Eastern country.

Can Biden repair his image in the foreign policy department and convince voters that he's a better fit than Trump to work with other world leaders? Only time will tell.
