When supply decreases, prices surge, along with demand. As a result of these shortages, popcorn faces a likely trajectory of being not just harder to come upon, but also more expensive.
Ultimately, this could pose problems for movie theaters later down the line. More people may steer clear of concession purchases altogether. This wouldn’t bode well for theaters, seeing as they make the most money from movie-goers buying food.

The continued growth of American interest rates isn’t doing everyday folks any favors either. While economists caution that increasing these rates will trigger a recession, the Federal Reserve argues higher interest rates will cool down inflation.
