Americans have been bombarded with mass shortages in Joe Biden's America.

Between pilot shortages, baby formula shortages, lifeguard shortages, and more, deficiencies in the United States have become par for the course amid current leadership.

These shortages maintain despite the campaign promises Joe Biden ran on. Biden campaigned on uniting the nation; he made "build back better" the centerfold message of his 2020 candidacy.

Inflation and mass shortages do not yield better outcomes for anyone. As a matter of fact, they only serve to create worse problems. In spite of this, these shortages keep piling up.

Now, American cinemas are warning the public that popcorn shortages appear imminent.

What to know about likely shortages in popcorn

As operators of movie theaters look to stock up for the summer period and holidays later this year, they're facing issues. As it turns out, kernel supplies remain scarce.

This is owing to ongoing trucker shortages, along with a lack of farmers cultivating corn instead of soybeans. Today, farmers remain more motivated to grow soybeans, due to higher profit margins.

As of this writing, the White House has not publicly weighed in on anticipated popcorn shortages. However, these are far from the only issues facing moving theaters.

While access to popcorn dwindles, the same is also true of nacho trays, cups for beverages, and even popcorn bags themselves.

More bad news for American consumers

When supply decreases, prices surge, along with demand. As a result of these shortages, popcorn faces a likely trajectory of being not just harder to come upon, but also more expensive.

Ultimately, this could pose problems for movie theaters later down the line. More people may steer clear of concession purchases altogether. This wouldn't bode well for theaters, seeing as they make the most money from movie-goers buying food.

Reports of popcorn shortages come as Americans are barely making ends meet as is. When prices surge and wages stay the same or even decrease, this isn't a record for economic success.

The continued growth of American interest rates isn't doing everyday folks any favors either. While economists caution that increasing these rates will trigger a recession, the Federal Reserve argues higher interest rates will cool down inflation.
