President Trump on Alabama Abortion Ban: “I Support the Three Exceptions!”

Tomi Lahren, another conservative commentator, came out and declared herself as pro-choice. Lahren affirmed that while she is not pro-abortion, she doesn’t believe that the government ought to mandate what happens inside a woman’s body. Like many others, Lahren furthermore denounced Alabama’s abortion ban as radical.

Ronna Romney McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, also shared her take on the Alabama abortion ban. McDaniel explained that she is personally supportive of the three standard exceptions: rape, incest, and danger of life to the woman.

Will the Alabama Abortion Ban Stand?

At this time, Alabama’s abortion ban has yet to go into effect. Although signed by the Alabama governor, it’s set to go into effect by January 2020. However, this may be delayed. Various groups have come out against the ban and furthermore vowed to take legal action in court.

This could very well tie up the legislation in the court system for quite some time. It will also be interesting to see how President Trump’s aforementioned statements on abortion impact the general talks surrounding Alabama’s controversial ban.
