On Tuesday, President Donald Trump predicted that Republicans will fare well in the upcoming midterm elections, reports The Hill.
An Overview of President Trump’s Prediction
During an interview with Hill.TV, the president cited the current state of the economy as a reason behind his prediction:
“I think we’re gonna do much better than anyone thinks because the economy is so good. People do like the job I’m doing.”
Trump furthermore talked about his own political experience in the 2016 election. He noted his victory over well-known, established political figures:
“I beat the Bush dynasty, the Clinton dynasty, 17 people, I never left center stage once, you can check; I never left center stage, meaning I had the lead in Republican primaries from day one.”
Towards the end of the interview, the president shared his thoughts regarding his accomplishments as the commander-in-chief and his views of the ongoing Russia investigation.
“I think I’ve done more than any president in history.” He then noted the “tax cuts” and the nomination of Supreme Court Justices; many Republicans are hoping to see Brett Kavanaugh nominated.
