The Clark County Registrar has announced the next batch of ballots in the heated 2020 presidential race will be announced on Friday at noon, marking yet another delay in declaring a victor in this highly anticipated election.

This news follows a recent announcement that the Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit against the state of Nevada for reportedly counting over 10,000 ballots that were cast by non-state residents. It remains to be seen whether the lawsuit holds any weight.

The New York Times aggregate polling data shows Biden and Trump locked in a dead heat with Biden leading with roughly a percentage point. Currently, 89% of ballots have been counted in Nevada.

For President Trump, winning Nevada will be a crucial step to keeping the White House as results for Michigan and Wisconsin show Biden to be the de-facto winner. That said, team Trump has filed lawsuits in both states and has already requested a recount in Wisconsin, which also happened in 2016 and resulted in Trump’s margin increasing when it was all said and done.
