The GOP is urging action against Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Mn) after federal filings show Rep. Omar’s 2020 campaign contributed to just under 80% of the total political payments Tim Mynett received ahead of the November elections.
Mynett’s firm, E Street Group, received over $3.7 million in campaign spending throughout the 2020 election cycle.
Of that total, Rep Omar’s campaign shows more than $2.9 million dollars in funding being funneled directly to his company, cited the Federal Election Commission filings. The Congresswoman’s contributions made up over 78% of E Street Group’s total payments and profits between January 2019 and November 2020.
Hypocrisy 101: @IlhanMN cites my legitimate mileage reimbursements while she paid her husband* over $1 million in campaign consulting fees.
*Not her brother, the new husband.

In November 2020, Omar publically announced she would be severing ties with her husband’s company, E Street Group, following her re-election. However, federal campaign finance filings showed an additional payment of $138,000 prior to severing those ties.
