Serena Williams has built one of the most decorated careers in tennis history, but her family is now making headlines in professional sports ownership.

Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian Sr., have brought their daughters, Alexis Olympia Ohanian and Adira River Ohanian, into the family’s growing sports portfolio.

Olympia, born in September 2017, became one of the youngest people to hold an ownership interest in professional sports. She initially became an investor in Angel City FC, the Los Angeles-based National Women’s Soccer League team, when she was just 2 years old. She later became a co-owner of the Los Angeles Golf Club, giving her an ownership interest in two professional sports teams.

Ohanian was also a founding investor in Angel City FC. The club describes him as a co-founder and member of its Board of Governors.

His approach to sports ownership has focused heavily on technology, women’s sports and creating new ways for fans to interact with professional teams.

That philosophy is evident in the Los Angeles Golf Club, one of the founding teams of TGL, a technology-focused golf league created through a partnership involving TMRW Sports and the PGA Tour.

TGL officially announced the Los Angeles franchise as its first team and identified Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams as members of the ownership group. The announcement also identified Olympia as an owner.

The Williams-Ohanian family's involvement goes beyond Olympia. Serena Williams' sister, Venus Williams, is also part of the Los Angeles Golf Club ownership group.

In announcing Olympia's involvement, Ohanian described the arrangement as a family affair and noted that his younger daughter would also be part of the ownership structure.

Serena has also spoken publicly about the importance of motherhood and family. Olympia has accompanied her mother to public events, while both daughters have been introduced to tennis and other activities.

The family's investments illustrate a broader trend of athletes and entertainers becoming owners and investors rather than limiting their involvement in sports to playing careers.
