Notably, within the subset of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents, 67% of loyal party members supported Biden, compared to only 40% of leaning independents.

Kennedy and DiSantis provide alternatives

The considerable support for Kennedy among the leaning independents raised concerns. It was viewed as a “potential warning sign” by Chalian, as he garnered 32% support from this group compared to just 15% from party loyalists.

Biden’s weaknesses in the polls are highlighted when measured against previous polls. A Fox News poll from last month mirrored the CNN findings, with Biden capturing 62% support among primary voters, while RFK Jr. received 19% and Williamson reached 9%.

In the midst of these troubling revelations for Biden, another Republican contender has emerged for the 2024 campaign.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has garnered support from over 150 former Trump administration officials, as part of the coalition known as “The Eight-Year Alliance.”

DeSantis’s popularity is particularly notable among highly educated voters, with 22% of 2020 Trump voters now backing him, while 58% remain loyal to the former president.
