On Wednesday, at the Boca Chica, Texas SpaceX facility there was a last-second abort of the first attempt to launch Elon Musk’s SN10 Starship.
“Launch abort on a slightly conservative high thrust limit. Increasing thrust limit & recycling propellant for another flight attempt today.” Musk tweeted.
Adjustments were made to the craft. Then the SpaceX SN10 Starship was launched for a high-altitude test flight. In 6 minutes and 29 seconds, it shot up 6.2 miles (10 km) and returned to earth.
This test was different from the first two Starship beta flights. Neither was able to land before they exploded.
The SN10 was able to return safely and execute a perfect landing on its pad which met the mission’s goals. Then after the live feed ended it exploded about 6 minutes later.
RIP SN10, honorable discharge
