Spectrum Offers $25,000 Reward for Information

Spectrum is now working with the Los Angeles Police Department and is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

“Criminal acts of network vandalism have become an issue affecting the entire telecommunications industry, not just Spectrum, largely due to the increase in the price of precious metals,” the company stated. “These acts of vandalism… affect our customers, local businesses and potentially emergency services.”

Service Restoration Underway

As of Sunday afternoon, Spectrum said it had restored service in Ventura and expected Los Angeles services to come back online later that day. The company emphasized that while their fiber lines do not contain copper, they remain targets for theft and sabotage due to misinformed criminal motives.

This is not an isolated incident. In May, Spectrum reported a similar case of vandalism in Kansas City, where two fiber cuts, including one by a third-party provider, triggered major disruptions.
