Despite coronavirus or its Delta variant, the Supreme Court determined the CDC’s assertion that it could implement an eviction moratorium has no legal basis whatsoever.

America’s response to the Supreme Court’s ruling

Left-wing America had a fit over the decision from the Supreme Court. Many leftists declared on social media that the ruling is all the more reason why Democrats should pack the court with left-wing justices. Democrats furthermore bemoaned the reality that with the moratorium gone, many evictions will likely commence.

Right-wing America’s reaction was very different. Many conservatives noted the negative impacts that the eviction moratorium had on property owners and landlords. Right-leaning Americans moreover reminded that for the government to come in and trample all over property rights is what happens in communist nations.

At this point, the ball is in Congress’ court. It is up to the House and Senate to determine whether or not another eviction moratorium gets implemented. The CDC does not have the authority to make this happen; neither does President Biden.
