Do not use the same password across multiple platforms. It makes it too easy for a hack attack to be successful. 

  •  Use two-factor authentication to make accounts secure.

Enable two-factor authentication. Use an Authenticator app. This adds an extra security layer to your account. 

Turn on log-in alerts so you’ll be notified if there is unauthorized access to your account. 

  • Report malware to the Data Abuse Bounty program.

Any suspicious activity report malicious applications that compromise Meta accounts to the Data Abuse Bounty program. The cooperative effort helps others to avoid the same traps.

GitHub maintains a repository that gives you methods for detecting malware and other malicious online activity.

 Indicators are listed on GitHub when there are indications they are tied to malicious activity.
