Chicago Police Department was promptly alerted to the incident at around 7 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers found the newborn girls lifeless.

Initial reports suggest that a janitor, called in to manage a scene smeared with blood, found the babies concealed in a trash bag.

The babies were rushed to Lurie Children’s Hospital, but tragically, they were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has yet to determine the cause of death as of Friday afternoon.

A Heartbreaking Scenario in the Bathroom

Adding complexity to the case, sources connected with the investigation revealed a 29-year-old woman, presumably a staff member of the center, was found in a bathroom, distressed and covered in blood.
