In the United States and around the world, rideshare company Uber has undeniably made a name for itself. People use the app to not only order car rides, but also get food delivered and even make arrangements for flights, buses, and coaches.

Unlike US competitor Lyft, Uber is active in 70 nations around the world. In 2022, roughly 131 million individuals used the app, many of them getting meals through UberEats.

All things considered, Uber is here to stay. In recent years, there's even been talk of the rideshare company coming out with self-driving vehicles that folks can order to get from point a to point b.

As this year's first quarter plays out, Uber is now making very optimistic projections about what lies ahead.

A positive sign of the times

This week, the rideshare giant predicted its earnings for the current quarter will shake out to a gross total ranging between $1.26 billion and $1.34 billion. Fueling this projection are significant upticks that Uber's observed in car rides and food deliveries.

Over the years, the evolution of Uber Eats has directly engendered its success. The app that initially offered food delivery from restaurants has now expanded to grocery and convenience stores.

To date, Uber attributes a sizable portion of its financial gains to increased business in the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions.

Convenience sells across nations

At the heart of Uber's popularity is the convenience it offers to customers. During times when many people are prioritizing work-life balance and remote employment, some may find ordering from their favorite restaurant to be more convenient than taking hours to cook a meal.

By the same token, why spend gas money running to the grocery store when you can open Uber Eats on your phone and have the products you need delivered to your doorstep?

Riding with Uber has gotten more convenient over the years, too. This is largely thanks to features that allow riders to add stops on the way to their final destinations.

As long as Uber continues making the lives of consumers easier and less stressful, the company can indeed count on continued growth around the world.
