HAMAS Sanctions
In a related development, the U.S. Treasury announced fresh sanctions on Hamas on Friday afternoon.
Hamas, also a designated terrorist group, had previously instigated an unprovoked attack against Israel.
The newly imposed sanctions specifically target charities and financial institutions. A high-ranking Treasury official emphasized, “Hamas should have nowhere to hide.” And described the sanctions as a commitment to counter terrorist organizations and their financial networks.
