The X-Files in Real Life: FBI Agents Investigate Lab’s Quest for Anti-Gravity Technology

In a scenario that seems right out of the science fiction world of "The X-Files," FBI agents made a visit to a laboratory in Hawthorne, New Jersey. The group of dedicated scientists led by Mark Sokol at Falcon Space have been on a quest to break the bonds of gravity.

The FBI investigation took place last week as Halloween approaches.

The strange visit was prompted by a report the FBI claimed suggested the presence of dangerous uranium could be within the facility.

While the uranium threat proved unfounded, the scientists at Falcon Space have been working on some groundbreaking technology. Some of the science reminds us of the iconic television series. After all, making objects weightless is a crucial step toward building a functional flying saucer.

Sokol, who founded the lab is only 35 years old. And his team of scientists and inventors has a unique mission. They are using nuclear physics to render objects weightless.

He recounted the unexpected encounter with two federal agents from the FBI. The agents, echoing the X-File’s Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, arrived at Sokol's laboratory on a Friday. Their mission was to delve into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), the government's term for UFOs, casting one of the agents in a real-life Mulder-like role.

Despite their investigation yielding no traces of dangerous uranium, the FBI agents were very curious about the experiments taking place at Falcon Space.

Their pioneering work involves a foil-lined Faraday cage, which has remarkably managed to reduce an object's weight by 17.8%. The Lab is trying to get above 90% in order to create a floating saucer.

The aim, according to Sokol, is to unlock the enigmatic technology behind these objects, which some claim to be of extraterrestrial origin.

To ensure an accurate portrayal of their visit, CCTV footage captures the FBI agents presenting their badges, interviewing Sokol, and employing a Geiger counter—a device designed to detect radiation. The lab displayed no harmful radiation levels, debunking any concerns regarding hazardous materials.

Sokol recounted the moment of their arrival: "They showed up on Friday right around noon. They flashed their badges, said 'FBI,' and asked if we had any enriched uranium. I laughed and told them no. One said that we're not in trouble and he wanted to come back at some point and pick my brain about UAPs because he's been tasked by the FBI, in investigating UAPs or UFOs."

In a twist that seems lifted from the X-Files, it's evident that while one agent may fit the description of a real-life Mulder. But his partner didn't quite align with the intellect and skepticism of Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully. Sokol described the junior agent as "fresh-faced and probably in his early 20s."

The FBI's involvement in the matter raises questions, and while it remains uncertain whether their Newark, New Jersey, field office possesses a designated agent for UFO-related cases, their visit aligns with their duty to investigate reports of illegal or hazardous radiological materials.

Falcon Space is also associated with a YouTube channel known as "Alien Scientist," run by lab co-founder Jeremy Rys. The channel regularly features videos of their experiments and scientific discussions, complemented by an online gathering called the "Alternative Propulsion Engineering Conference."

Rys expressed skepticism about the visit, emphasizing that the senior agent had a background in financial crime investigations, a far cry from the paranormal investigations frequently featured in the X-Files.

"They said they were interested in UAP and the kind of stuff he was doing at the lab. It could be a shoe in the door. Maybe they're trying to trick Mark into opening up more because they know it's his passion. If you lie to federal investigators in any way, even just telling them the time on a broken clock, they can later put charges against you," Rys noted.

This intriguing tale of FBI agents investigating a New Jersey lab engaged in a quest for anti-gravity technology evokes the images of Halloween and the intrigue of "The X-Files." But isn't it true that blurring the lines between fiction and reality often happens in the heart of scientific exploration.
