According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), omicron’s so-called “BA.2 subvariant” is under observation; it also played a role in the mask mandate’s extension until early next month.
Negative reactions from the public
To say Americans remain displeased with the continuation of the federal mask mandate for travel is an understatement.
Amid the news on Wednesday, conservatives and Republican officials lashed out at the Biden administration. Critics noted that no science exists in extending the mandate for another 15 days.
Then, some other people warned the Biden administration has no intention of ever lifting the mandate. The mandate remains opposed by the general public, the air travel industry, and many others wanting a return to normal.
The Biden administration’s extension of the mandate also arrives as public approval remains low for the president and leftists.
Keeping this mask mandate alive won’t do the Democrats any favors; if anything, this will irritate Americans and further the drive to vote the current party out of power in November.
