Walgreens Settles $230 Million Lawsuit to Address Opioid Epidemic in San Francisco

After the ruling, Walgreens spokesperson Fraser Engerman expressed disappointment in the decision. 

Before settling Walgreens had planned to appeal. And Engerman claimed, “As we have said throughout this process, we never manufactured or marketed opioids, nor did we distribute them to the ‘pill mills’ and internet pharmacies that fueled this crisis.” And that Walgreens played no role in the crisis.
