An Overview of National Walkout Day

National Walkout Day is a response to the horrific high school shooting which occurred in Parkland, Florida last month. Many students are convinced that U.S. legislators are not taking the proper precautions to prevent future occurrences. Therefore, students opted to walk out of class on Wednesday and protest in the middle of the streets for stronger gun control measures.

However, more events transpired than mere protests for gun control. Chicago students employed National Walkout Day as an opportunity to destroy a business within their own communities.

A Walmart employee furthermore provided additional details about the 40-60 students who trashed the store:

These guys jacked up our store pretty good. They pounced on cars in the lot, vandalized two of the school buses parked there. Threw Gatorade bottles at shoppers, smoke bombs, and we heard gunshots in the parking lot.

Controversy Surrounding National Walkout Day

The general consensus of National Walkout Day is considerably divided. Many liberals are in favor of students walking out of class. Conservatives, however, have expressed strong opposition to the events which transpired on Wednesday.
