A former Arby's manager in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, is facing serious felony charges after police say surveillance video captured her deliberately spitting into a customer's sandwiches — an act that a subsequent lawsuit claims transmitted a herpes infection to the victim.

Amanda Hendricks has been charged with felony poisoning with intent to injure following the March incident involving customer Jennica Church. According to investigators, Hendricks was caught on camera lowering her head toward the food and spitting on it while preparing the order.

Church told local media she had stopped at the restaurant after a late bartending shift and noticed an unusual delay. She ate one sandwich in the parking lot and took the rest home to share with her husband and a relative in hospice care. Shortly afterward, she began experiencing symptoms and later tested positive for HSV-1.

The lawsuit accuses Hendricks of working while having an active herpes outbreak and claims Arby's operators allowed her to continue despite visible symptoms.
