Right now, the latest RealThirtyEight poll numbers have Biden’s approval rating at 49.3%. This rating comes amid new surges in COVID cases, higher living costs, and more crime in America’s cities.
According to research director Matt Grossman, approval of Biden will drop even more as a result of the Afghanistan crisis. Grossman noted that criticism of the president from media reporters will impact public opinion.
Helping stranded Americans
Right now, many Americans are of the view that Biden needs to help U.S. citizens stranded in Afghanistan. Republicans especially are noting that if Biden directed towards the Taliban the energy he directs at GOP governors, some damage control could happen.
Thus far, no real action plan has come from the White House. In fact, the nation’s defense secretary admits that the Biden administration lacks the resources to pull out every single stranded American.
This is not good at all. At the rate things are going, American citizens could die at the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan, if they have not already. It’s furthermore impossible to forget that all of this is happening on Biden’s watch and during his presidential term.
