Alicia Navarro, who had been missing for four long years, has finally been reunited with her family.  The story of Alicia's disappearance, her sudden reappearance, and her reunion with her family is one filled with both hope and challenges.

Alicia Navarro's journey began when she ran away from her Glendale, Arizona, home at the tender age of 14. She left behind a note for her parents on September 15, 2019, with the words: 'I ran away. I will be back, I swear. I'm sorry.' 

For four years, her whereabouts remained a mystery, and her family was left with the tormenting uncertainty of not knowing her fate.

Then Alicia walked into a police station in Havre, Montana, in July 2023.

She asked the police to remove herself from the missing persons list. And told them that she was safe. The police shared a video of her speaking with them, confirming her well-being.

The news of Alicia's reappearance brought both relief and new challenges. She was traveling with a much older man. And a few days after she showed up in Montana she reportedly disappeared again with the man.

There had been no public announcements on the case until today when Alicia's mother Jessica Nunez explained they were reunited.

Reunited with her family 

The case had gained national attention, and the family had faced death threats. Questions lingered about whether Alicia, who is described as 'highly-functioning' autistic, had been lured or groomed by an online predator, potentially for human trafficking.

Her mother, Jessica Nunez, expressed her gratitude to the public for their help and concern. And claims her daughter’s return is a miracle.

The reunion with her family marks Alicia's return home after a four-year absence. Now 19 years old, she is set to spend her first Thanksgiving and Christmas with her loved ones since her departure. 

However, Alicia faces formidable challenges on her path ahead. These include the need for continued medical care and the prospect of returning to school after having not attended since her disappearance. Her family no longer lives in Arizona.

Alicia's return to her family will present challenges. Her Mother never stopped looking for her. And maintained the Facebook page “Finding Alicia.”

On Wednesday, Nunez shared that she would be shutting down her page on the online forum.

‘I thank you all for all the support… My family is complete,’ Nunez posted.

‘We need to heal and for that to be possible I will ask privacy… I thank everyone for all the concerns and support… God is a miracle worker.’

She emphasized the need for privacy to allow their family to heal and adjust.

The reunion of Alicia Navarro with her family is a reminder that the missing can be found alive.

As Alicia embarks on her journey of reintegration and recovery, her story will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to others facing adversity. And it will also give hope to the many families of the missing that sometimes they make it home.
