Amazon has compared their purchases of these companies as working to control the electronic “plumbing” of various houses, and Eero is the perfect next step in this direction. Whether it is further connecting doorbell cameras and smart speakers, Eero will enable Amazon’s products to function more swiftly.
In fact, Eero, the five-year-old company, was one of the first businesses to introduce mesh networking into the world. Their products are proven to significantly boost Wi-Fi signal over thousands of square feet which may allow Eero to be implemented into some of Amazon’s brick-and-mortar stores.
Dave Limp, senior vice president of Amazon devices and services, discussed this deal, claiming, “We are incredibly impressed with the Eero team and how they invented a Wi-Fi solution that makes connected devices work… We have a shared vision that the smart home experience can get even easier, and we’re committed to continue innovating on behalf of customers.”
Although Eero has faced competition in this field for many years, Amazon’s acquisition insinuates that they will soon edge out any other competitors. Experts are excited to see how Amazon continues to innovate, especially after this purchase.
