The impeachment proceedings against President Trump are inherently politicized, partisan, and deeply controversial. There are certain folks in this country who believe that the president’s conduct and actions warrant impeachment, despite the lack of supporting evidence.

Then, there are other Americans who take issue with Democrats’ ongoing attempts to remove Trump from office. In addition to viewing these habitual attempts as problematic, many people across the nation furthermore understand that the facts are not on Democrats’ side.

As the impeachment proceedings play out, the 2020 presidential election is also running its course. During last night’s sixth Democrat debate, candidate Andrew Yang opined that Democrats must end their “obsession” with impeaching the president.

Why Yang Believes Democrats Should Let Go of Impeachment

Yang essentially made the case that focusing on impeachment is not in Democrats’ best interests. The 2020 candidate also went on to explain that by centering attention on impeaching the president, Democrats miss the larger point. Furthermore, Yang noted the 17% congressional approval rating and Americans’ lack of trust in the press.
