Biden Background
Biden served on the county council for Delaware’s most populous county, New Castle County, in 1970. He was in his late twenties at the time.
Two years later he made a successful run for the U.S. Senate representing Delaware. And he remained in the Senate from 1973–2009.
He also told the crowd that, ‘I used to give out my phone number, can’t do that anymore. They don’t even allow me to have a phone anymore.’
He was vice-president from 2009-2017.
In 2020, he was elected President of the United States at the age of 79.

The rest of Biden’s speech was his boilerplate. ‘I’m going to work like the devil to bring gas prices down,’ he promised.
And he continued with ‘We’re going to keep working to strengthen the supply chain and bring the cost of every good down, particularly food and automobiles.’
