Biden vs. Trump: Race to 270 Electoral Votes, State by State Election Results

On Monday morning, almost 100 million voters already cast their ballots before Election Day on November 3. The number included over 34 million early in-person votes and almost 60 million returned mail-in ballots, according to data from U.S. Election Project.

Battle Ground States

Americans are closely watching the election results from battleground states including Florida Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Texas.

The challenge for Joe Biden is to flip Florida, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to defeat Trump.

The race to 270 electoral votes

It is November 3, 2020, Election Day. Americans are exercising their right to vote for president. Biden and Trump each need to obtain 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.

CNN projection: Trump wins Indiana, clinching 11 electoral votes. The result is expected since Indiana is traditionally Republican and it is the home state of Vice President Mike Pence.

CNN Projection: Biden wins the three electoral votes in Vermont, the home state of Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders.
